Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has made a bold declaration, stating that there is no better place for entrepreneurship and investment than Abia state. This assertion was made while receiving a delegation from the US Market Access Center (USMAC), led by CEO Mr. Chris Burry.
“When you talk of technology, that’s where we are heading to. If it is about entrepreneurship, innovation, I think you have come to the best place. There is no better place, if you are talking about entrepreneurship, if you are thinking of investment, than Abia state,” Governor Otti stated.
He emphasized that Abia state is ripe for investment, with huge potential and human energy waiting to be harnessed, particularly in Aba, the state’s commercial hub. He encouraged the USMAC team to visit Aba and witness the opportunities firsthand, stressing the importance of evidence-based findings.
“I want it to be evidence-based. So, go to Ariaria, go to other markets in Aba, you will see things for yourself. We need to come from evidence point of view,” Governor Otti declared.
The governor also commissioned the team to collaborate with the Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Mr. David Kalu, and other relevant officials to explore potential areas of partnership. This move is part of the administration’s efforts to rapidly develop Abia’s potential, create wealth, and lift the people out of poverty.
Mr. Chris Burry, CEO of USMAC, expressed his team’s interest in investing in entrepreneurship development and skills acquisition in Abia state. He praised Governor Otti’s innovative approach, which made Abia the first state on their visitation list.
This development is a testament to Governor Otti’s commitment to making Abia state a business-friendly environment.
