Nigerians will never enjoy the Sane society Ghanians Enjoy If…

The Unfortunate Reality: Why Nigerians May Never Know a Sane Society

As I reflect on the state of our nation, I am reminded of the stark contrast between Nigeria and Ghana. Our West African neighbor has consistently demonstrated what it means to have a functional and peaceful society, while we continue to grapple with the basics.

Let’s start with the recent general elections in Ghana. The transparency and peaceful conduct of the polls were a testament to the country’s commitment to democracy. In contrast, Nigeria’s last general election was marred by violence, manipulation, and blatant disregard for the electoral process. It’s clear that our politicians are more interested in maintaining their grip on power than in serving the people.

But it’s not just about elections. Ghana has made significant strides in providing basic amenities to its citizens. For instance, the government has introduced free fare for commuters, a move that has eased the burden on citizens and promoted economic growth. Meanwhile, in Nigeria, our politicians are too busy lining their pockets to care about the welfare of the people.

And then there’s the issue of electricity. Ghanaians enjoy a relatively stable power supply, while Nigerians are still grappling with darkness and generators. It’s laughable that our politicians promise to fix the power sector, but we all know that’s just a pipe dream. They’ve pocketed the nation, and we’re just along for the ride.

Furthermore, Ghana has managed to maintain a level of peace and stability among its ethnic groups. In Nigeria, however, we’re still struggling to overcome our differences. The constant clashes between ethnic groups are a testament to our politicians’ inability to unite the nation.

Lastly, Ghana’s water system is another area where they’ve shown us up. While Ghanaians enjoy access to clean drinking water, Nigerians are still struggling to get this basic necessity.

I challenge Nigerians to name one thing we enjoy more than Ghanaians. Is it our corrupt politicians? Our decrepit infrastructure? Our lack of basic amenities? I think not.

It’s time for us to face the music: Nigeria is a failed state, and our politicians are the ones who have failed us. Until we demand better, we’ll continue to wallow in this mess. Ghana may not be perfect, but they’re certainly doing something right. Can we say the same?

Opinion: Those Who preach against polygamy Now allows gay to be Ordained as Priest- Ohaji.

The people who told you marrying two wives is not good now allow men to marry men and women to marry women. Today, they have said that gay people can train for priesthood provided they become celibate. In the seminary, these gay people will be with boys. And as they grow and become Senior Seminarians, they will take charge of little boys who might not be strong-willed to say no. Therefore, I don’t think seminary will be a safe place for kids in the near future.
I know too well that in the seminary, the boys training to be priests are not living with girls. But gays training to be priests will live with boys. Isn’t that incredible? Nothing is stopping two gays from making out, but it will take a long convincing to get a girl to make out with a boy.

If the church in Africa wants to save itself, it needs to separate from Rome. Time to headquarter the Catholic Church in Africa in Africa. You have no business remaining with the Vatican. That’s if you want to survive the future am seeing. If you don’t take this bold step, many will leave the Catholic Church. Some will not only leave the catholic church, but they will bid Christianity goodbye.

If a gay can train for the priesthood, then why not marry gay people in the Church? Sure that’s the next step.

Funny people.

Bronx Fire outbreak at a six-story apartment, 7 people injured, 200 displaced.

A massive five-alarm fire broke out at a six-story apartment building in the East Bronx, injuring at least seven people, including five firefighters. The fire started on the top floor of the Mayfair Apartments on Wallace Avenue near Arnow Avenue around 1:40 a.m. Friday and quickly spread to the cockloft between the ceilings of the top floor apartments and the roof ¹.

The FDNY responded with over 250 firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics, but the heavy wind conditions made it difficult to contain the blaze. In fact, firefighters had to be pulled out of the building due to fears of a structural collapse .

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but FDNY Fire Marshals are investigating. The building has a history of complaints, with 61 filed since 2019, mostly regarding the elevator’s condition .

Residents were evacuated and taken to nearby Public School 76, where they registered with the Red Cross for temporary shelter. The city’s Office of Emergency Management is also providing assistance.
